A Black Hawk, Colorado Engagement

Saersi & Collins' Black Hawk Engagement

Black Hawk, CO

Saersi and Collins met me up in Black Hawk for an evening in the pines, no shot list, no stiffness, just the two of them moving through the trees as the light dropped behind the ridge.

Why Black Hawk for an Engagement Session

Black Hawk sits high in the foothills west of Denver, the kind of place where you trade traffic for pine and granite within an hour. For couples who love the mountains but want something less iconic and more theirs, it is a quiet, beautiful pick that still feels distinctly Colorado.

The Session

We wandered between pine stands, open meadow, and a few quiet overlooks. The light worked with us, that long, soft Colorado glow right before the sun ducks behind the ridge, and Saersi and Collins did what they do best: laugh, lean in, ignore the camera. The photos came out feeling like a real evening together, not a session.

Planning a Foothills Engagement

Aim for golden hour, leave time for the drive up, and pack a layer, even in summer the temperature drops fast once the sun is gone. I can help scout the right pull-off or trailhead near Black Hawk, Nederland, or Evergreen so we are not fighting crowds.
